Mercy Secondary School is a pre-cast new build, multi-storey school, built on a greenfield site to cater for 650 pupils in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath.
The school is 7750m² and comprises 24 classrooms, 15 specialist classrooms, PE Hall, stores, changing rooms, offices and a library.
The Special Needs Unit (SNU) is 820m² and comprises 4 classrooms, sensory spaces, multi-sensory room, para-educational room, practical activity room and a daily living skills room.
External spaces comprise 4 hard play courts, a secure hard and soft play area for the SNU and 58 car parking spaces.
To meet NZEB requirements sustainable solutions implemented comprised rainwater harvesting, EV charging and 146 Solar PV panels. A BER of A3 was achieved.
