Newry Town Hall – Meet the Buyer Event!
It was great to attend the Meet the Buyer event in Newry alongside Woodvale Construction Company as part of the project team for Newry City Theatre project.
Semple & McKillop Consulting Engineers were pleased to meet subcontractors, supply chain, job seekers, apprentices and local residents to answer questions, and provide information about the project.
The works to take place include renovating the historic Grade II-listed Newry Town Hall and building a multi-functional venue upon the site of the neighbouring Sean Hollywood Arts Centre. Linked by a glazed atrium, the two buildings will operate as a single location.
The project will transform the existing Newry Town Hall theatre, creating a flexible 255-seat auditorium designed to accommodate a variety of layouts and events. The space will be equipped with modern audio-visual and performance technology, while an expanded conference configuration will allow for capacity of up to 315 people.
In addition, a new public realm performance area to the rear of the building will provide an attractive space for outdoor events and activities, helping to support the wider regeneration and revitalisation of the Sugar Island area.
