City Quays Belfast
Name: City Quays Public Realm
Location: Belfast
Client: Belfast Harbour Commissioners
Value: £3.5M
This multi-million-pound scheme has transformed a former surface car park into a vibrant, sustainable urban garden, featuring 5G-enabled outdoor workspaces and artworks celebrating Belfast’s maritime heritage.
Our design delivered comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEPH) solutions including lighting, solar-powered energy systems, EV charging infrastructure, irrigation, CCTV, Wi-Fi, and communications. All systems were designed for long-term performance and sustainability built to meet the unique challenges of a waterfront location.
With sustainability and environmental excellence as a key design focus, the City Quays Gardens has been developed to achieve the One Planet Living environmental accreditation, a first in Northern Ireland. The Gardens have incorporated an eco-conscious design and create new habitats for wildlife, enhancing biodiversity and utilising renewable solar energy to provide all power requirements.
We were responsible for the design tender and onsite inspections of the M&E services for City Quays Gardens, a transformative, 2-acre regeneration project on Belfast’s Lagan Riverfront.
